Mark O’Loughlin

Mark O’Loughlin is the Director of the Florida office of 1789 Investigative Group, bringing with him a wealth of experience from his distinguished 28-year career with the United States Marshals Service. His journey in law enforcement began after earning a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Stonehill College in Massachusetts.

As a newly appointed Deputy U.S. Marshal, Mark was stationed in Washington D.C., where he was tasked with the critical role of executive protection for the federal judiciary, U.S. Supreme Court Justices, and high-ranking government officials. During this time, he developed a deep expertise in threat assessment, route planning, and the fortification of physical security, ensuring the safety of those under his protection from elevated threats.

Mark's career continued to advance as he took on the role of Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, from 2004 to 2007. In this position, he oversaw all aspects of physical security for the Federal Courthouse and the federal judiciary, managing everything from access control and surveillance systems to the implementation of emergency protocols. His responsibilities included hiring and training physical security specialists, and his work was crucial in maintaining the safety and security of high-risk environments.

From 2007 until his retirement in 2024, Mark served as a Regional Chief in the Investigative Operations Division, specifically overseeing the Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF) in the Southeast United States and the Caribbean. In this role, he was responsible for the funding, coordination, and oversight of large-scale, multi-agency operations aimed at identifying, locating, and apprehending fugitives worldwide. Mark also played a pivotal role on the United States Marshals Global Assistance Team, where he traveled throughout South and Central America to assist local law enforcement and military personnel in tracking down high-value targets sought by U.S. authorities and international agencies.

Mark's career has been defined by his ability to adapt to ever-changing threats and implement effective risk mitigation strategies, making him a highly respected figure in the field of law enforcement and security.
